A member of the ginger family, Costus Arabicus is a gorgeous and rarely offered plant with nice medium-sized green and white variegated leaves.
A beautiful hardy and cold tolerant ginger have a tendency to revert to solid green leaves – prune away any stems with green leaves to maintain variegations. Good pot plant.
Plant Care
- Will be happy in a light spot with indirect sunlight. Direct sunlight is a real ‘no go’ for this plant.
- Requires consistently moist soil; do not let dry out between watering. Between watering, the top layer of potting soil should not dry out, it is important that the soil always remains moist.
- Chalky, Loamy, and Sandy soil can be used. Clammy is yet very much depleted.
- 15 – 25°C
- Apply organic fertilizer once a month during the growing season.
