Description

Monstera Albo Plant The Swiss Cheese plant gets its name because of its large, heart-shaped leaves. As it ages, the leaves become covered in holes that look like swiss cheese. This Monstera is part of the Araceae family and is native to South and Central America. It loves to climb up and grow higher.

It is important to note that the appearance of their leaves can change over time. These holes help the large leaves to withstand strong winds and rain in their native habitat. These can sustain damage and rip easily. Like other variegated species of Monstera, the monstera albo thrives on more light than its solid green-leafed counterparts.

Monstera Plant deliciosa Albo-variegata, a spectacular variegated species, is one of its best. This vine is also known as “Split-leaf Philodendron”. This species is found in southern Mexico and Columbia. It can bear edible fruits when mature. It is very easy to grow, but variegated varieties are more difficult to propagate

Plant Care

  • They’re made for shade, so an ideal plant if you don’t have bright rooms. Not keen on direct sun.
  • The monstera albo is not a thirsty plant. As long as you keep the soil slightly moist and well-draining, it will be happy. In general, it is a good idea to allow the soil to dry or almost dry between watering.
  • Loose and airy soil that quickly drains water is crucial.
  • 15 – 35°C#
  • The monstera albo isn’t a heavy feeder. Besides liquid fertilizer, you can use slow release plant foods as well.
